It would be the same if I decided to go to any other DAW, though. I love Reaper and it does a lot of things better than Sonar, but until I can speak the language, I can't commit to it. It wasn't until I could find the right way to word it in Reaper-ese that I was able to find an answer.

There are more than 50 alternatives to MuLab for a variety of platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPhone. Not that I was looking for this the entire time. It took me months to figure out that a VSTi in Reaper will run an input signal in parallel on the track. I mean, whatever works for you, but fruity loops, ableton and bitwig aren’t really in the same league as protools / nuendo / logic etc, in fact they’re barely even playing the same sport.Ībleton’s great for some things (quick composition, processing, djing, live performance, osc and max integration), but if you want to multitrack a band or an orchestra, with multiple playlists / takes and zero (or sub-ms) latency, multiple headphone feeds, proper synchronisation ( i mean things like sample accurate video ref) you pretty much have to use protools HD/X. in fact, most of the serious ones aren’t even attempting to (logic, cubase / nuendo, dp, protools, etc), and why on earth would they want to? Will every daw turn into ableton? an odd question to which the answer is clearly and pretty emphatically no.
